Igbomina Monarch, Oba Rufus Ajayi Disowned By His People
The National Executive of Omo Ibile Igbomina has disowned ‘Oba’ Rufus Ajayi who it said arrogated to himself the title of ‘Obagbaja Arolagbade II, Oba of Gbomina Kingdom in a recent interview (not The Punch).

The National President of the Omo Ibile Igbomina, Mr Timothy Adebayo during a media briefing with other members of his executive council in Ilorin the Kwara State capital on Thursday stated that there is no territory known as ‘Gbomina Ekiti kingdom.’

He stated that it does not exist either in Kwara or Osun where there are Igbomina people.

He noted that Igbomina land presently comprises three local government areas in Kwara State namely, Irepodun Ifelodun and Isin as well as two LGAs in Osun State namely Ila and Ifedayo.

He said, “We see the claim of Ajayi as fallacious, fraudulent and tendentious. As a matter fo fact, the entire interview in the publication is farce lacking in moral substance, fictitious and maliciously misleading, on account of the colossal damage that may have been done to genuine Igbomina sons and daughters home and abroad.

“The purported ‘Gbomina Kingdom,’ is a self-creation to carve a non-existing empire.”
