...in exchange for selecting deputy, other shaded deals

It is revealed.

Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the last minute entrant into the People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial primary to determine the successor of outgoing Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan was able to clinch the ticket based on the political might and hidden threats of powerful ex militant known as Tompolo (real names Government Ekpemupolo).

Tompolo is said to have flushed the gubernatorial aspirant who joined the race barely 48hrs to the primary election with a $3million campaign fund on the eve on the Party primary.

The move which caught other players flatfooted was contrary to arrangement that had produced a consensus candidate- Tony Obuh- to maintain balance representation in

government posts amongst ethnic groups in the state.

Okowa crested to victory spending heavily – and backed with the hidden threats of having a powerful street figure with seven war ships to his name. And an army of violence wreckers that forced even the President to shift proposed visit in the face of their agitation.

Okowa is said to have dished out as much as N1M each to delegates to have his way.

The nearest spender came close spending half of that, N500,000 ( Five Hundred Thousand Naira) societynowng.com learnt.

According to an insider ‘the delegate opted to collect the money and vote for Okowa in the face of possible consequence of refusal...of course that the he was the highest spending was added advantage’

Sources claimed given that PDP has the state in its grip, it is taken that Okowa would emerge the next Governor of Delta state and Tompolo the power behind him.

Further revelations sourced by societynowng.com from news breaker  theeagleonline revealed Tompolo worked for the emergence of Okowa in exchange for concession in determining his Deputy- and other business deals.

Sources disclosed the deals are ‘shaded fro now’ but confirmed given that the ex militant leader has special interests in maritime and petroleum industry related commercial initiatives ‘such businesses should be taken as already in his palm’.

Okowa shrugged off competition from Tony Obuh, the aspirant with backing of incumbent governor Uduaghan and President Goodluck Jonathan and David Edevbie the man in jail political influence, James Ibori has interest in amongst others to clinch the Delta PDP gubernatorial ticket.
