The man who suffered what was generally adjudged the most humiliating defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election to determine candidates for the Federal House of Representatives in Lagos state, Deji Jakande is guaranteed a return to  office despite his heavy loss.

 

The son of former governor, Alhaji Latef Jakande was trounced 235 to 8 in attempts at retaining party mandate to seek re election.

 

He was defeated by immediate past immediate past chairman of Odi Olowo council development area, Taofeek Adeyemi Alli.

Fresh digs by societynowng.com revealed the sufferer of major defeat is assured of mandate to contest general election in bid to retain title of Federal lawmaker thanks to the pleas of father.

 

Insiders disclosed the former governor had rallied other political power brokers in the state plead with decision maker, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for mercy.

 

The pleas were reportedly hinged on assertion Deji Jakande’s position is the prime benefit of his father as a loyal party man and staunch supporter of ‘all things Tinubu’.



Sources disclosed after much pleas and pressure Deji has been moved to another Federal constituency in Lagos state.

 

The support and usefulness of his conqueror at party level Adeyemi was weighed too much to be sacrifice for Deji’s return.

 

‘it is not something they want any noise about and it is believed Alli has too much support in that place to be made to withdraw, so Asiwaju agreed to field him in another federal constituency…they have told the winner in that place to step down for him in exchange for a compensatory package…as we speak, it is as good as a done deal’.
